A breezy comedy regarding manners about the upper reaches of New York society. Social climbers, and those who consider themselves social elite members in this story are situated in a post 9/11 New York City where tragedies actually do come about. Chock-full of shopping, mansions, spa treatments, and fine dining, it is a sensuous read, but Wasserstein's humor and ironic perspective is what adds a backbone to the fluff. Overall, I enjoyed it.
