Juliana Fiori had been interested in Simon Pearson, the Duke of Leighton, since she arrived in London to live with her brothers. But Simon kept his distance from Juliana who seemed to always be flaunting society's rules. There was no place in his life for scandals. Simon knew his family depended on him to keep their names out of the gossip columns. But after a wager with Simon, Juliana sets out to prove that the Duke of Disdain is actually a passionate man.
This is a nice ending to MacLean's Love by Numbers series. We met both Juliana and Simon in the first book and knew they would eventually end up together. Simon does his best to stay clear of Juliana, but she will not take "no" for a answer. All of the characters from the previous books are back in this wonderful romance. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

A story of a Duke with a family scandal that is about to cause havoc in his life, and his attraction to a woman who seems to be scandal waiting to happen.
Julianna, younger sister to the twin brothers of the first two books, has been attracted to the Duke of Leighton from the first book. But he constantly pushes her away, his own consequence being foremost in his mind. Julianna and Simon, of course, can't stay away from each other and she can't seem to avoid trouble.
It's all kind of cute but also sad and painful to watch Julianna falling in love with someone who considers her so far beneath him. He was sort of likable throughout it all, but everything he said and did seemed hurtful to Julianna. Most of this was eventually resolved but I was disappointed that she kept throwing herself at him despite how terribly he treated her. I thought he should be begging her and it always seemed the other way around.
Overall another charming book from Sarah MacLean, worth reading despite my personal problems with the characters.
