Connor Fitzgerald is a professional's professional. Holder of the Medal of Honor. Devoted family man. Servant of his country. But for the past twenty-eight years, Fitzgerald has been leading a double life as the CIA's most deadly assassin. And only days before his retirement from the CIA, he comes across an enemy who, for the first time, even he cannot handle. The enemy is his own boss--Helen Dexter--the director of the CIA. Dexter's stanglehold on the agency is threatened by one decision, and her only hope of survival is to destroy Fitzgerald. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, a formidable new foe is threatening the United States: a ruthless hard-line Russian president, who is determined to force a military confrontation between the two superpowers.
From emergency meetings in the Oval Office to a Russian mafya boss's luxurious hideaway outside St. Petersburg, "The Eleventh Commandment" sweeps readers off their feet from the first paragraph.

I'm not usually a big fan of spy stories, but this one had a nice twist to it.

I very much enjoyed reading The Eleventh Commandment. My husband read it after I finished, so we had good discussions about the characters and story. It was a satisfying read for both of us. I would rate it 4 stars and Bob would offer it 3 stars.

"Involving and convincing...Archer hashad an inpressive and steady career as a writer of compulsivelyreadable suspense novels. He specializes in the unexpected plot twist, the surprise ending...Archer[Has] the Ineffable Gift of a natural storyteller and he brings to the page a romance and a sentiment often missing in the genre."

A first rate international thriller with a slam-bang climax. A lot of fun to read. Wouldn't want a boss like Helen Dexter!

I have always had a weakness for a Jeffrey Archer caper and this is no exception. Career CIA troubleshooter is hung out to dry by an opportunistic President. Operative is then sent to kill Russian Communist candidate in hopes he in turn will be killed by either CIA, Russian Mafiya or secret police. Thought provoking with many red herrings.
