I really didn't think I would like this book. its different from all of the other Doig books I read accept the characters all have a Montana connection. However it was very intense and gave me a different view of how the WWII effectived those state side.

Interesting but not riveting, sad but not heart-wrenching. Ivan Doig fans will enjoy this one.

We don't do many 'five star' ratings but both my husbnd and I loved this one.

I like Ivan Doig's work but just could not seem to get interested in this particular story.

Group of men serve in various branches of the military, and various theaters, during WWII. Includes info on more obscure postings, such as Alaska.
