Lady Christina is creating a scene. The beautiful, infatuated debutante is chasing London's favorite dandy, Aubrey, Lord Standish, from routs to ballrooms and he is running as fast as he can. The tabbies of the ton are talking, and Christina's reputation is slipping. Something simply must be done and Aubrey's father, the cantankerous Earl of Willetson, intends to do it. He wants his layabout eldest son leg shackled and no two ways about it. So he's giving a house party, with Christina as the honored guest. But nothing proceeds as planned, and soon Christina wonders what she ever saw in the standoffish Lord Standish. yet the moment she spurns him, Aubrey realizes he has to have her. Now, in a most unconventional courtship, he must prove himself the most romantic suitor ever to woo a reluctant bride.
