Riley's life is very chaotic. In this new book she has 2 cases to solve. One where an evil soul needs to be stopped & one where there are wealthy female wolves are being killed. In the meantime she & Kellan are still together & trying to stay that way. Will her job get in the way? This is another great story in this series. Riley just wants to be a normal wolf but can't because of the drugs someone gave her. She of course finds lots of trouble and this time her mothers safety is involved as the pack that banished her & Rhoan comes calling. Can't wait for the next one.

Great book, most sets that have more then two books to it kind of get redundent well this set dose not. It just gets better and better.

Another great installment of the Riley Jensen series. I love this character. SHe is tough but still in touch with her emotions. She struggles with the violence in her life and doesn't become detached completely.
My only complaint? The next installment isn't even being listed yet!!!

I had read the first one of this series, but wasn't pleased with the amount of sex in the story. I already had this one, too, so I thought I'd give this author another try. She is just as good a writer as before, but the graphic sex is even worse than the first book---a LOT worse! She teases us with an excellent story trying to happen around a book full of X-rated sex scenes. This author's work belongs in Erotica, or an adult bookstore.

Evidently I'm the only one who found this book boring. For anyone who likes him, Quinn isn't in this book at all. There's a lot of sex but I didn't think it was very inventive writing. She's still involved with Kellan but you don't feel IT about them as a couple. There was some important development for her as a woman - things she learns about herself that I think are good for the overarching story. And there is a hint of the future from Dia, a psychic from book 4, who gives her a cryptic picture of her love life. Leaves you wondering.

In general I find this series enjoyable despite what I see as some major issues. It's not that the entire book is ever bad, or even entire subplots. But for some reason I have these moments of frustration and boredom when I read these. A big example for this book was every scene when Riley entered the club, Mirror Image. I'm sick to death of those clubs and the role they play in these books. I think that the author need to diversify settings and situations a bit.
The plot of this particular book was fairly interesting to me. First, Riley is pursuing men who have been kidnapping werewolves and other shapeshifters--most often beautiful females. Additionally, Riley is called upon by the Directorate to investigate what appears to be the serial murders of unfaithful women. I thought it was clever that the plots surrounding fidelity and emotion so closely mirrored what was going on in Riley's personal life. Her lover Kellen, is pressuring her to go solo with him, a major step for her. Unlike some of the previous books, this one showed Riley go through significant self realization as she matures as a character. She has an independent spirit, is tough as nails, but still manages to show heart.
I feel like with this book, Keri Arthur is finally pushing the series toward its potential. Based on that potential alone, I recommend this series to urban fantasy fans.

This Riley (& company)are hunted by something that no one has any knowledge about. I won't give away the secret, but Keri Arthur is really making her books more involved.

A wonderful start to a new paranormal romance series, I found myself surprised with how much I liked this book. While parts of it I found daunting because they were given in excess (I'm all for unapologetic sex scenes but, really, how does one do anything _other than lay on ones back when you have to have that much sex?), I found the overall storyline quite engaging and refreshing. It's nice to see a female lead character that isn't given to bouts of weeping or unnecessary vengefulness but perhaps that's just me!
Part vamp, part werewolk, Riley Jenson plays by her own rules, whether it's her stormy love life or her job as a guardian. But when her family's alpha male demands that she solve the mystery of a vanished girl, Riley can feel a trap closing in around her. Because the job comes with a catch: if Riley fails, her own mother will die. Now the stakes are raised, the hunt is on...and when more women vanish, Riley is caught between a lover who demands that she give up her work, a serial killer who knows no boundaries, and a club where humans and supernaturals mix--at their own peril.

By far the best one so yet, but I have 2 more to go. Riley is maturing nicely and this was a great read.

I think this was typical for this series, it was a pretty good and fast read and I enjoyed it. Of course a major issue comes up the end, now I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.
I love this book but I would read the whole Guardian series. It is great. If sex bothers you this is not the author for you to read.

good series, good charactar...too much sex,
This is another awesome book in the Riley Jenson series. It was hard to put this one down, just the same as the previous 4 books in the series. I love the characters.
Another terrific Riley Jenson book!!
Love this book. Although I have not read the previous 4 books in this series, the story was told in such a way that you get a clear picture of all the characters in the story. Love the heroine and her co stars. Love the suspense and love story although it did not quite have the expected ending.

I didn't like this book as much as the first 4 Riley books, but I like the continuing story.Once I start a series, I tend to continue, even if some are not as good as others. Arthur still mixes lots of steamy sex in her books and Riley can't seem to keep herself out of danger. I can't wait for the next installment and I hope it is a little more entertaining.
