Embracing Grace is a good overview of God's work in the world, which is the gospel. The title is well chosen to represent the book: the gospel (that is, the good news) is that God has started a cycle of grace that embraces the whole world, and we get to throw ourselves into that cycle of grace and embrace God, others, and the world in love.
I liked this book because it laid out a good, basic overview of Christian theology in fresh terms with well-chosen illustrations. McKnight does a great job of covering the main points of Christian theology in a broad-brush way that connects them to his main theme. He also mentions (and lists in an appendix) many resources for those who want to dig deeper. I would recommend it to anyone (Christian or not) who wanted an overview of what the gospel of Jesus is all about because McKnight writes on a level that requires some thought, but one doesn't have to be a scholar to understand this book.
