Church is not about what we can do with human ability and planning. It is about inviting the Holy Spirit to show up in power and change lives. Sure, we can do research and think about lighting candles and turning the lights down and playing various musical styles for worship but NONE of that matters if the Holy Spirit is not involved.
Books like this (focused on human planning) frustrate me. I'd much rather read a book about how to get the Holy Spirit flowing in my church.
