What a great book! There are life lessons here and simple truths. I loved this book! Keep the tissues handy because you will need them. I hope this book gets made into a movie. It would be great. 5 stars!

Cute chick lit. Emily's jerk of a husband dies and she finds out their marriage wasn't what she thought it was. Her dead husband Sandy is given a chance to make things right and "help" her by becoming a dog she names Einstein. Yea, kinda far fetched. The details of NYC and the historic Dakota apartment building are good.

I have to admit when i seen the cover of the book I had to read it. When I started this book I wasn't sure id like it. The plot was a little far fetched for me and not what I expected it to be so I stopped reading it for a few days. I picked it back up and something about it made me continue reading it and I'm glad I did. Excellent book

It's definitely easier to understand than a rambling review.
Sandy Portman who is attractive, smart, and charming lives the high life on the Upper West Side of New York City. He falls in love with the pretty, idealistic Emily, they get married but their marriage is cut short when Sandy is killed in a tragic accident.
Upon his death, Sandy meets an angel who gives him the ability to rectify his sins -- of which, there are many. He returns in the body of a dog, "Einstein", at the animal shelter where Emily works.
Emily, meanwhile, must cope with not only the loss of her husband but also the news that she is on the verge of being kicked out of their apartment.
Sandy works to right his wrongs and help Emily move on, even when it appears she might be moving on to another man. The pace of this novel is somewhat abrupt, and the characters at times overly stereotypical, yet the twisting plot and fantastical nature of the story make it an interesting tale of love.

This was a wonderful, yet unusual book about love, loss, courage, rebirth and a soul's growth. It is told through the eyes of a little dog that is now inhabited with the soul of a recently deceased gentleman. He has many lessons to learn before he can move on. He ends up living with his (the deceased man) ex-wife. This is a must read!
This was a soso read for me. Half way I almost put the book aside but decided to stay with it. However, it's quite predictable and an easy read. The story line is original and I liked that.
If you enjoy stories that begin with tragedy and end on a happy note try this one. The heroine loves her husband beyond belief. When she loses her husband she discovers who he really was. Nevertheless, she believes that he loved her beyond everything even though he romped from bed to bed with other women during their marriage.

He sure didn't deserve a second chance....
I'm a little scared for the rating for this book. I think sometimes people have trouble keeping certain parts and feelings about a book or its characters separate.
Sandy is a characters that's beyond easy to hate. And I mean passionately. That fact is going to color this book for a lot of people even though it maybe shouldn't.
I can hate a character and not hate a story. Actually, in some ways, in some books, it makes it better. It makes you think, it makes you feel passionately.
The amount of back and forth (I trust that readers of the book will understand what I mean) that the author put into this staggering.
I can honestly say this isn't a book I'd have picked up on my own. I can't really say why. The cover would have drawn me, I know that. The description itself is engaging. I just wouldn't have taken the chance on it. Yet another book to thank GR (FR) for.
I don't think I've ever had a book be so hard to review without leaving a spoiler. This probably isn't what you think. It was so far from what I thought that I reread the description a chapter or two in. But I can't complain - it works. It works well.
There are going to be people so uncomfortable with the thought of some of this that they'll hate the book. And that's a shame but nothing can be done about that. While I'm not exactly the type of person who does "believe" in some of these same things I can open my mind enough to enjoy it... and wonder. You never know...
If this authors other books are anything like this she has a lifelong fan in me. I think I'm going to get my hands on The Ex-Debutante next. If anyone has any suggestions for her other books I'mm very open to hearing them.
If there are any FirstReaders waiting on this - reconsider.

This was a fun read- not great literature by any stretch of the imagination, but perfect for a rainy Saturday!
Great book a wee bit slow and complex in the first couple chapters but then it became easier to keep track of the characters and blended into q soul searching spiritual and emotional journey of love, and caring and life events that kept me captivated.
I really enjoyed this book. You won't want to miss it.
