One of my 9 year olds favorite book.
Spunky Emily Bartlett lives in an old farmhouse in Pitchfork, Oregon-at a time when autos are new inventions and libraries are a luxery few small towns can afford. Her runaway imagination leads her to bleach a horse, hold a very scary sleepover, and feed the hogs an unusual treat.

Shows the importance of books and libraries--even to working hard to bring one where there isn't one! I like her spunk :-)
The heroine Emily is a child whose imagination always runs away from her. She has many adventures when she decides to open a post office in Pitchfork, Oregon. My daughter loved this book. It was very entertaining and she read it to herself in 2nd grade.
Beverly Cleary is an amazing writer.
This author has earned her strong reputation as a children's author.
"Emily is vividly real."
The cover on my book is different, and there is an inscription on the cover page. Otherwise it's just fine.
