An interesting combination of historical fiction and a little bit of sci-fi which took me out of my comfort zone, but I definitely enjoyed the gentle nudge. Set during WWII and ending in the 1970s, this book takes the reader on a tour of history through the eyes of one family as they live with an extraordinary secret.

Four stars because this book is very unusual. It has glimpses of other stories, but it stands on its own. Also, although unusual, the characterization of the people was spot on- the family members and the people in the town. I felt as though the author was alluding to more and that the book would be good discussion for a book club because of this.

Very strange yet wonderful novel if you suspend your disbelief for a moment. A form is found on a farm in the mud. Carried into the home with no facial features or much form of humanity..They are warmed and covered. Slowly this form takes the form of the woman who dragged HIM/HER into the farm house.

It gets stranger & stranger the more you read. This being can can change into man or woman form..

It starts with Lesbian love and changes again into man & wife love. Remember this form can change his her gender at any time..

The parts I loved the best were the horses and the connection this form had with them..

This was one of those books where it was very strange but you couldn't put it down. Read it in two days.
