I picked up this book not really knowing what to expect, but I just loved it! Having a hero that's a shapeshifting lion was so different and it worked so well with the story. Ok, so the plot was a little predictable, but with such great characters, who cares? This is such a wonderfully romantic story, quite "enchanting". I highly recommend you read it!

And I'm so glad this is a new series, because I'm dying to read the next one that comes out!

A wonderful mixture of history/paranormal/mystery all wrapped up in romance. I loved how the setting was true to English history, with the major change of being wrapped up in magic. Despite the majic, however, I think this book has something for everyone to relate to...I'll let you decide for yourself what you find.

This story was very well written and the author has a knowledgeable grasp of foreshadowing. The relationship between the two main characters is very believable, and the book gives an accurate depiction of naivete in the youth of that time period. I adored the fact that the author incorporated magic into the story. It is a difficult thing to do and is much more difficult to make the reader believe.

A little bit of fairytale and a little bit of romance. Definitely a young read or for anyone who is young at heart and likes to pretend they are a princess now and then.

First in a series about an alternate Victorian England where the aristocracy is assigned based on the magic they can perform and magical creatures exist. The heroine here is a young woman who has no magic and her hero is a were-lion. I really enjoyed this, the magic world was set up believably and the characters were likable and interesting. The story may have been light, but it was engaging and fun. I picked up the 2nd in the series, Double Enchantment, right away.

A delightful story!

A combination of my two favorite genres, Regency romance, and magic.

It was a very clever twist to have the author incorporate some of the English landmarks with a magic twist. Also, some clever writing that she uses the animal mannerisms of the animals for the shape shifter characters...beyond the predators that everyone usually uses.

This was a great book to read to mix things up a bit when reading Historical Romances. I also have read the Breed Series by Lora Leigh which is much more graphic/erotic, etc. This book was a nice twist of incorporating animal/human beings falling in love with humans without the over the top sex scenes.

I also enjoyed the familiar historical romance settings, etc with a new "magical" twist to them. Can't wait to read more of the series.

A plot that has been done before--alternative reality, magical England, blocked powers, magical creatures etc etc.( see Mercedes Lackey, for example). Quick read, flimsier and lighter than air plot.
