Interesting book that brings a person to really think about how important oil is to our country and why we need to fight for it.
I thought this was an excellent description of the challenges that will soon face us and our entire energy economy, as well as some potential solutions. I actually think the author is a bit too optimistic in some ways - I don't share his faith in the ease or effectiveness of carbon sequestration or widespread distribution of hydrogen. But I could easily be proven wrong in my predictions, and certainly the book is a wonderful introdution to all of these ideas.
It's an issue to which I wish everyone would pay attention. It's true that changing the way we harvest and use energy will be extremely expensive, but waiting until we are *forced* to change will only make it more so, and then it might also be too late for that change to be at all safe or comfortable. Think 'Mad Max' kind of uncomfortable.

This is an explanation of what the future may bring as far as oil fields, production, and consumption. China, and India are major players in how the US will be paying for oil in the future. This is a thought provoking read. Makes you think.
