National Park Ranger, Anna Pigeon, solves murder during a forest fire. Not your average detective. A really interesting main character with lots going on.

So disappointing. Too many "cutsy" remarks which didn't add to the story. Too many coincidences. Too drawn out, as if she had to fill a certain number of pages.

I liked the first four, but after I finished this one, I posted the next two I had to my bookshelf without reading them.

I am a big fan of our national parks and big fan of Nevada Barr. Just hate that our protagonist Anna gets the crap beat out of her in every adventure.

I enjoyed this book because I have visited the location. Otherwise, it isn't one of the author's best works.
