I really want to like this series more than I do - the characters are interesting and have great chemistry, the tea information is great and the recipes are wonderful. I just can't get past the fact that Theodosia *seems* far older than she is represented in the books. Beyond that, this was a well written entry into the series and an enjoyable read.

As a lover of tea and mysteries I enjoy this series. Theyre cozies; just right for some light reading before bed. I enjoyed the tea shop setting, and all the talk about different teas and desserts made me wish I had a tea shop like this near me.

This series gets better with every book. For me, the series started out ho hum, but I really liked the characters, so I continued with it. I'm really glad that I did because each book is better than the previous. This one being no exception. This series has gone from 3 stars to 4 ... hopefully, it will continue this way.
Theodosia is ever so likable, as is Drayton and Hayley - they've now become some of my favorite characters in fiction. It's not necessary to read these in order, and this can certainly be read as a stand alone.

Light read mystery. Has tea shop recipes in the back of the book. I made the sweet potato muffins. They were yummy.

Another great book by Laura Childs!
Typical English "cozy". Good read on a lazy day.
Enjoyable book with pleasant characters. This book is 4th in the series and it can stand alone as you do not have to have read the previous books to enjoy this one.
Great cozy murder series for tea lovers with exceptional recipes included.

I like how Laura Childs finds a different activity to hilight in her books. This time is the hatching of the logerhead turtles. The main characters get caught up in the results at each activity. I'm liking the series and this is a good read, too.
In this fourth book in the tea shop series by Laura Child's, Theodosia Browning starts off simply enough by volunteering at the hatching of the loggerhead turtles. She has joined her baker, Haley, and they have provided gumbo and scones to warm up the volunteers and of course tea. Drayton who did not want to join them originally shows up with a second pot of soup just when Haley and Theo are afraid that they will run out.
Theo persuaded Drayton to take a look at the turtles and that is when she sees the sea weed entangled body floating off shore. It was very disturbing for Theo who went out to check to see if it was indeed a body but even worse for Drayton who recognized the body of his friend, Harper Fisk.
Harper Fisk was a member of the Breakfast Club, a self-proclaimed group of old farts who met and discussed their passions. Two of them had shops in the historic district, one was retired Navy, and the other was a professor of aquatic archaeology. In addition to running the Indigo Tea Shop, trying to solve Harper Fisk's murder, juggling a relationship, shooting promos for a Charleston tv talk show and being at Delaine beck and call for Fashion Bash, Theo also has to deal with Delaine's kleptomaniac sister, Nadine. Of course our old pal Detective Tidwell is back to see that justice prevails.
