I first became enamored of Lynsay Sands writing when I was gifted the book Love is Blind. She has been on my automatic buy list since I finished that first story. I look forward to her books like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. While I love the Argeneau Vamps, I was ready and in the mood for a fabulous historical romance. Ms. Sands delivered.
Annabel has been raised to be a future bride of Christ since she was 7. She is sure this isnt the world she belongs in but makes the best of becoming a future nun. The sunny side is how she chooses to see things. Then one day the family who abandoned Annabel all those years ago comes to the convent to retrieve her and force her into marriage, she reluctantly but dutifully goes along with their plan.
Ross, Laird of the MacKay Clan, was bound by contract to marry the eldest daughter of an Englishman. When he finds out the family plans on forcing the youngest on him instead, he is prepared to walk away from the contract, until he sees her.
From start to finish, I loved this book. It was exactly what I wanted, and exactly what I needed right now. It is a funny, sexy and incredibly romantic read. Annabel and Ross were the ideal couple with perfect combinations of humor, strength, heart and wit. They complimented each other beautifully and burned up the pages with their passion.
And Jaysus, is there anything sexier than a Scot in a kilt??

After many disappointments from the last few Argeneau novels, I thought I might be done with Sands. Then she comes out with something like this and I'm caught all over again.
If you have read her other historic novels, they do follow the same format. They might even have some of the same gags, but nevertheless they are fun. The trick is to not read them back to back and hope you don't have a good memory. Then you will find this one silly and thoroughly enjoyable.
Ross and Annabel are very sweet. The side characters are memorable enough. Most of the plot follows who attacked Annabel and lots of sex scenes. Quick, fast read.

This was my first Lynsay Sands book and I am hooked! It was great. I read it on my day off and didn't want to put it down. It was just what I needed to read on a cold, rainy winter day in front of the fire. I have since read another of her books and have ordered several more. I am a LS fan now! Enjoyable characters and funny and witty storyline! I also like to know what the guy is thinking as well as the girl. Not many do that. Keep them coming Ms. Sands!!! A great read!!!

If your like me and you like to read books about characters that are a little naive, innocent, determined, hardened, and passionate then this is the book for you. I love reading books by Lynsay Sands and this one didn't disappoint. Sand's ability to write memorable characters is nothing short of remarkable.
This story is awesome!!! Ross and Annabel are a perfect example of true love at first sight.
