There are strong elements of grief in the book. It is a good story with well developed characters. I cried. I liked the story.

This is about a single Mom who upon growing tired of her Mother's criticism and her ex's inability to show her love or committment, decides to make a huge move. Opal believes in 'signs' so she gets in the car, throws a dice & vows to stop on when three full tanks of gas have been used. This is how her and her son Zack enter the small town of Normal.

Rose & Ned's son was killed in a car wreck five years before. Ned appears to have moved on, but Rose cannot let go. Rose wants no part of her new 'irresponsible' neighbor and her son. She can't bear to even hear the sound of Zack's laughter outside.

These two women couldn't be more different, yet somehow maybe the two can find a way to help each other in a way no one else can.

I loved this book! I found as many other Anne LeClaire books as I could and ordered them last night.
