Great book! I really like all her novels. This one focuses on Poe and his life in NYC.
It's been a long time since I read a book by this author. Yes, it's well written but I thought the plot has been overused. Alexandra Cooper, as usual, finds herself coping with a killer who intends to do away with her but, of course, she survives. Finding herself buried beneath a floor, a coworker rescues her and the second time she manages to overpower the killer herself.
I liked the links to Poe and the quotes so very much. They added much to the tale, more than the story itself, and whetted my appetite to read more of Poe, returning both to his poetry and his short stories.

i really like this series of books. It doesn't really have to read in order like so many
have to but it does help with character building. Theplots and subject matter are always spellbinding plus I've yet to know "wo done it" until the very end.

A skeleton is discovered behind a brick wall of a building once lived in by Edgar Allen Poe - sounds perfect for one of his stories - but forensics finds the skeleton has been there less than 25 years. Also, The "Silk Stocking Rapist is back at his old game. Maybe.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the Poe feature, which of course made me want to read him, having never done so before. Fairstein keeps your interest and does extensive research on her books.
Entombed is one of the most original, chilling, and brilliant crime novels that I have read.
Another great Alex Cooper novel, Mike and Mercer take the cake....

This was excellent, Linda Fairstein just keeps getting better. If you read her first book, "Final Jeapordy" and stopped there, you owe it to yourself to read all of her later books. The first was pretty bad but the rest of the series is great. Full of interesting little tidbits about NYC, well-drawn and likable characters, and good plots make Linda Fairstein a favorite of mine.
A great read for fans of shows like Law & Order:SVU

I have found a new favorite author and it is Linda Fairstein!!! This is the first book I have ever read by her and I can't wait to read more!
Even though this book is a later book in her Alexandra Cooper series, the characters and plot are so well-written that it definitely can stand alone. You don't necessarily need to have read the others to enjoy this one.
I loved the way this book combines the history and the creepiness of Edgar Allan Poe with a moder-day crime. Excellent!!!

Sections of this book were good, left me feeling like reading more. Other sections left me wondering why I was reading the story at all! Dragged in some places, not in others. Too many characters,so many that I couldn't keep track of the suspects. I skimmed thru some pages and eventually finished it.
