Please let your children read these books. Even as young as second grade will benefit from the writing style and the need to make crucial inferences with the storylines. These books are good for your kids' brains, parents. Excellent books!

I have picked up the first 10 in this series for my grandson. He enjoys them. I am hoping to find the last 3 listed before he finishes these. So far he says they are a 4 out of 5 rating.

A delightful read steeped in sarcasm, cynicism, witticism, and a number of other isms that add up to a great installment in the Series of Unfortunate Events. Younger readers and adults will both be able to appreciate the humorous tone with which the Beaudelaire orphans are exposed to and react to the events unfolding around them. A fun, easy read that even finicky readers might have trouble putting down.

My son loved this book, and I really enjoyed reading it to him. Not much element of surprise with these books, but they are fun.
