I love, love, love this series, it is my absolute favorite, and Mr. Tanenbaum is one of my most favorite authors but....... This book is very good and I would never recommend that you DON'T read it, but in my opinion it's not one of the better books in the series. It reminds me of his book Corruption of Blood. With both of these, I felt that they were books that Tanenbaum wrote for his own personal needs while still incorporating it into the Butch Karp series, if that makes sense. Personally, I can understand an author's desire to write more serious and important works...and still have them sell LOL. It delves quite deeply into the Muslim religion and it's relationship to terrorism as well as mental health issues involving hearing God's voice. It is all very interesting and a great plot, definitely, but personally just a little more information about each of these things than I was in the mood for, I guess. I found myself skimming the political and religious and jumping back into the fictional. (Actually, I found myself quite often blurting out "Okay, okay...enough already, Bob! If I want important, relative, newsworthy info I'll go get it!" ha-ha)
Good story though and definitely worth reading...when you're in the mood.
