Great read - second book in the THE GODS OF THE NIGHT series.

The heroine of book 1 [Eternal Pleasure] sister's has come to visit - in truth she's there to check out the new husband and the guys he works with. She finds guys who are as gorgeous as they are dangerous... and discovers her experiences with tabloid journalism haven't even skimmed the highlights of the REAL supernatural world.

The hero is Al, a man with soul of an allosuarus and anger management issues. He and the heroine are pitchforked together by the leader of the group, a man whose visions say the heroine is the key to saving this piece of the world. She finds Al both terrifying and fascinating [she'd better, he's the hero] and her protection against the mean streets of supernatural Philadelphia.

Nina Bangs does a great job of mixing dinosaurs [keep the internet handy - you will want to look each of the guys up!], Mayan mythos, doomsday scenarios, along with the 'regular' supernaturals found in most paranormal romances [demons and shifters and vamps, OH MY!]

I just recently got into paranormal romance, so I'm still feeling my way around the genre. So this book was a little out of my normal reading, but I think it was pretty decent.

I loved Nina Bangs' writing style, and the idea of prehistoric beasts saving humanity was pretty original. However I just didn't love the story all that much. Granted once I got near the end I couldn't put it down.

Bangs' is a great storyteller. Her descriptions are great and her character development is awesome. The story follows Jenna as she travels to Philadelphia to find out what her sister has been up to. The shock she finds when she gets the full story is more than most people could take, but her interest in Al keeps her around. Jenna finds out that she is the key to saving humanity, at least in this battle, and in her hunt to find out what exactly she has to do she falls in love.

Again I loved the writing style and the story has merit. I just didn't entirely like the prehistoric souls. I will definitely pick up something else of hers, but this series doesn't seem to be up my alley.

It was a pretty quick read, and I really liked the characters. Overall I would give it a thumbs up!

My copy is unfortunately an ARC so I won't be able to post it, but if you like Nina Bangs I would recommend you get this one!

Good book, highly entertaining. Made the mistake of swapping the first book, now feel the need to keep them all until the end of the series!

Another great book by Nina Bangs. Her writings keep you wanting to know more about each character and ultimately what will happen in the end. You will want to keep reading this one until the last page.

Al Endeka, a tortured hero and shifter of mega proportions. Violent, out-of-control Al is put on babysitting duty when Jenna appears in Philadelphia where the Gods of Night are staging their next fight...against Eight. Once again the vampires, werewolves and fae appear as allies to help in the fight against the demons intent on killing all humans and taking over the world. The attraction between Jenna and Al is instantaneous and both try to fight it. Al because he doesn't deserve to be happy and her because his Soul scares the hell out of her.

As far as I'm concerned any book by Nina Bangs is worth reading. Her characters are easy to relate to; the plots are always tight, and action abounds.(Alright the sex is steamy as all hell, there I said it) But her Gods of the Night series is my absolute favorite. I trade all the others but GOTN's all go onto my "Touch and you die" shelf because they are so damn well written. When Eternal Pleasure came out I thought Oh Goodie, another Nina Bangs fantasy-fest. Imagine my suprise, when I discovered that one of my go to authors for sensual escapism had more than sex up her sleeve. (oops pun NOT intended)

Short story long, I LOVE this series and can't wait for the next installment.
