Six young girls form a club and a stupid stunt leaves one dead. Thirteen years later, one of the remaining five is brutally murdered. It soon becomes clear that someone wants these women dead. I think of all of the books I've read by this author so far, this one is my favorite. I love the suspense of this story. It kept me up all night!

A good 'who dun it' that keeps you guessing until the very last 20 pages, written to keep you guessing throughout and unless you 'cheat' very hard to figure out the 'who'

A club started by six young girls called the Six of Hearts started out innocent but ended with the death of their friend Faith. Now 13 years later, the surviving five are being picked off one by one. The calling card is the number six and a drawn heart together with a tarot card for judgment.

Laurel Damron, one of the club members, is scared to death by what is happening but the original club leader, Monica Boyd, doesnt want any of them to tell what happened that night that they lost one of their friends. Monica has worked too hard to become partner in her law firm to lose it now. After the second of them is found dead, Laurel tells her boyfriend, Officer Kurt Rider, everything. Now that it is in the open, she hopes that they will be able to solve this before the next one to be found dead is her! But who could it possibly be? Faiths crazy father, her little sister or could it have been her unborn childs father? Or could it be one of them?

In the Event of My Death really had me guessing. The cast of characters are well written and keep you wondering because it seemed anyone could have had a motive. The atmosphere of the small town everyone knows your business really helps with the suspense because not one person knows the whole story. Laurel eventually pieces it all together with her own investigating but is it too late? My only hold up of not giving In the Event of My Death a 5 star rating would be with the relationship that happens in the end of the book. It was forced and fast, like the author quickly tidied everything up.

Recommended for all the mystery lovers out there.

Six teenage girls have a club, the 6 hearts, one dies in a fatal accident which turns out not to be an accident. 13 years later, one woman is beaten to death and beside her is a taro card and written at the crime sceine, 6 hearts. The four women left come together at the funeral and soon another one of them is beaten to death again left with a taro card and the clue, 6 hearts. The story proceeds and the plot thickens as many suspects are privately invstigated by the remaining members of the 6 hearts. This is a great page turner with wonderful characters.

A good, quick read, a little too quickly ended and wrapped up, but kept me guessing until the reveal so that is a good thing! Looking for a mindless read with some thrills, this is a good pick.

This is a pretty good mystery about 6 friends. The author keeps you guessing. I never knew who the killer was until the moment they were revealed.

First book by this author, but I enjoyed it. Some parts seemed contrived, but all in all a good read. I kept going between 2 people as the guilty 1. I read this book in about a day and so it kept my interest. I think the average person would enjoy it.
