When you watched the movie, didn't you wonder who found out about all the cool stuff in the Book of Secrets? This book posits the existence of an agency dedicated to discovering those secrets and links a present-day UFO incident to the Roswell Incident to make for a rolicking good story.

Wonderfully written. This book was a surprising find that I enjoyed immensely. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down! I can't wait to see more by this author.

The plot was pretty good and made for a decent read but I was a bit disappointed with the ending. I know it is a work of fiction but he overdid some of the descriptions and outcomes . It starts out as a good action / mystery / adventure but it became almost cartoonish in the last couple chapters. I gave it a 3 star rating since it was mostly pretty good.

This is a page-turner. An intelligent thriller. Everything from government conspiracies to covert ops to alien invasions and the possible extinction of mankind. It is well written. The only drawback, to me, was alot of military terms in describing types of weapons and such, but if you're into high tech toys and weapons, this would definitely be for you. If not, this is still a great action packed thriller, and after a certain point, nearly impossible to put down!

I'm a big fan of the science/action thriller genre (such as James Rollins), and overall I enjoyed "Event" by David Goleman. I thought the concept was excellent and very interesting, but at times, the writing is a little rough/confusing and it's hard to follow which characters are doing what, or suddenly there's something going on that was a surprise (such as a helicopter opening fire when you didn't realize that there was one in the area). I think most of these "issues" would be caught by a good editor or would not even be written by a more experienced author. So, I am really looking forward to the second book in the series, not only to see what happens to the characters and what adventures they will encounter, but also to see how Mr. Goleman matures as an author. The book concept and subject matter outweigh the sometimes-rough writing, so I rated it 4 stars.
