Another urban fantasy romance the characters created in the debut [Afterlight: The Dark Ink Chronicles] dumps a whole heap of new problems for the protagonist to overcome.

Plenty of reminders as to what came before, they are NOT reminders that stand without context. This is fine if you read Afterlight a while ago and need a refresher, but it's nearly useless if you haven't. So Read Book 1 first Afterlight.

The constant use of cliche's like Dude, repeatedly didn't work, along with several others.

I also was hoping for more from the plot. It felt a lot like most of the story was killing time until they could face down the villain.

Everdark didn't appeal to me in style and tone, but maybe it's just aimed at a younger audience.

I really enjoyed this book! So much so, that I'm reading it a second time (which I rarely do). If you liked Sookie Stackhouse novels and Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake books, I think you'll enjoy these as well. They have (in my opinion) the perfect mix of action, vampire mayham, and "romance", not too erotica but just enough to keep you wanting more.

Let me begin by saying I really like the way this gal writes. Awesome writer, fun characters. And She put me right into the story and let me watch it unfold around me just the way I like. 2 very important checks in the worthy author collum.

But the story took F o r e v e r to start. All the chick did was sparr and screw, sparr and screw. There was also a fair amount of her transitioning to an odd type of vampire. It was very well written, but I got bored.
I read about the first third of the book and tired of waiting for the story to unfold so I bailed about 1/3 the way through
