Not sure how I feel about this one-Some of the dialogue is trying very hard to be funny-maybe it's the character's way of dealing with the war. It does give a good insight into London during the bombing.

I loved this book. My husband loved this book. Our friend we recommended it to loved this book. I listed to the audio version and found the prose, the characters and the story captivating, heartbreaking and gorgeous.

Everyone Brave is Forgiven by Chris Cleave is, at its heart, a love story. Surrounding the love story are equally present stories of British society, friendship, racism, and war. This is the first Chris Cleave book I have read. He certainly weaves a visual story that places the reader in the middle of the picture. I can see why he has so many devoted fans.

Chris Cleave is a good writer. This book is set in London in 1939-1942 and in addition to being a great read offers a lot of historical detail about ambulance drivers and the mayhem of war.

Brilliant writing with clever turns of phrase. The characters are fully realized, like real people. A joy to read.
