This is one of the best books in the Mitch Rapp series so far. As the story opens, Mitch is struggling with adjusting to his new life as a husband and a bureaucrat. When a hostage rescue goes wrong, Mitch and his usual crew of Scott Coleman et al are sent in for clean up. He angers both his wife Anna and his boss at the CIA by getting in the line of fire rather than just strategizing from the sidelines.
Meanwhile, an unlikely terrorist is involved in a dangerous game between a spoiled but wealthy Saudi prince and Ben Friedmen of Israeli intelligence. Although this second storyline seems unrelated for much of the book, the cast of characters eventually come together in an action-packed finish.
I particularly enjoyed the storyline about the Middle East conflict. Flynn presents a more balanced account of the conflict than does some of his contemporaries (e.g. Daniel Silva.) The pacing of Executive Power is excellent and reminiscent of the can't-put-it-down suspense of Term Limits.

This book is 482 pages long (rather thick), but I finished it in two days! It never gets draggy or bogged down in unnecessary details, but speeds from one suspenseful action to the next.......one of my fav heroes, Mitch Rapp! I love political mystery/thrillers; it's like sneaking around the White House peeking in doors:) Definitely recommend!

Complex political spy thriller of international intrigue---very interesting

A fast paced thriller.
Rough & tough, I read it , my husband read it !Adventure all the way !
Returning from a covert mission, Mitch Rapp was publicly hailed by the president for his role in the fight against terrorism. After years of working in the shadow, Rapp was caught in the media spotlight-and marked for death by virtually every terrorist in the world.
With the world watching, Rapp must hold back the flames of Armageddon...

Compared with other Mitch Rapp books I've read, this is below average, but that still makes for a good read. Flynn really put two short stories together, with a minimal connection/relationship between them. What he does well, though, as always, is to tell stories with good character development and insights. A worthwhile read, but not his best.
Returning from a covert mission, Mitch Rapp was publivly hailed by the president for his role in the fight against terrorism... marked for death...terrorism.. leak in State Department.
Each Mitch Rapp novel gets better and better. I can not wait to read the next one. Fast-paced spy thriller.
A very good book. Kind of predictable in places, but still good!
Just another book by Flynn. He improves with every writing.
I had never read a book by Mr. Flynn. I did not finish the book, as I found it quite wordy and did not hold my interest.
Excellent book. I recommend it. The series is great.
A great read as usual for Flynn
Any book by Vince Flynn is a winner.
I want to reread this book over again. It was so good, powerful, compelling and an intersting story the first time through, it's almost like I want to read it over and over again.
Typical Mitch Rapp. Fast moving , suspenseful and exciting
I am totally hooked on Mitch Rapp, this is yet another great fast paced mystery I could hardly put down! If you love this series then you'll love this book and if you've never met Mitch Rapp, it's time you did.
A real page turner!
Good action story
Great book. Hope these guys really exist.
decent international spy thriller. Mitch Rapp is hero and somewhat of a brash thug. Good plot keeps moving you along at fast pace. Will Mitch Rapp save the day? Of course, you know he will.
Excellent book just like all of his others.
Another in the Mitch Rapp series. After years of working in the shadows, Rappwas caught in the media spotlight--and marked for death by virtually every terrorist in the world.
Another great read by Vince Flynn. This also features Mitch Rapp
Great read - a continuation of the Mitch Rapp, CIA series
From Publishers Weekly
Packed with likable characters and undergirded by an in-depth understanding of the tangled politics of the 21st-century Middle East, Flynn's latest spy thriller (after the bestselling Separation of Power) can rightly be termed a post-September 11 espionage novel. Mitch Rapp is the CIA's number one assassin, recently lauded by the president as "the single most important person in America's fight against terrorism." Recently married to a high-profile anchorwoman and given a desk job, Mitch is having a hard time settling into the brain center of the CIA and giving up the gritty end of operations. He can't seem to resist seeking hands-on involvement in his latest assignment: unraveling a murky plot to create a Palestinian state. A mysterious operative, "David," plans to assassinate the heads of the major terrorist groups in the region and pin the deaths on Israel, simultaneously creating sympathy for the Palestinian cause while striking a fatal blow against terrorism, which he despises. Though the novel never strays far from the many conventions of the genre-a cadre of international agents, pedantic bureaucrats, spoiled sheikhs, and a U.S. president and military unfailingly portrayed as noble-Flynn spins an entertaining narrative. Though the book deals with an Iraq still firmly under Saddam's control, it should appeal to Americans' burgeoning awareness of-and interest in-the complex affairs of the Middle East. Perhaps the book's greatest accomplishment is its oblique questioning of the politics of vengeance. "The only way to make them stop is to hit them harder than they hit us," says the leader of Israel's intelligence agency. As Flynn's book demonstrates, the tragedy is that those same words could easily come from either side.

Mitch Rapp never disappoints.
Great pace, great story, worth the time !
More from Mitch Rapp plenty of action and you can "root" for him all the way. Mitch is "outed" from being a hidden "asset"
All of Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp books are riveting.
Another great Flynn book!
Very good book.
A Navy SEAL team is ambushed and the leak is within the State Department. A ruthless assassin is at work stirring up trouble in the Middle East. One man must try to prevent another world war.
CIA superagent Mitch Rapp's cover has been blown--just when the world needs him more than ever.
very captivating
Not the best in this series.
Great Book - as are all of his.
another great book by Flynn - a little slower than some of Flynn's others, but still a good book.
Terrorism, power and a great character, CIA superagent Mitch Rapp won't disappoint fans of Flynn. A fast-paced thriller. Happy Reading!
I like all of Flynn's books. Fascinating.
Another great book in the Mitch Rapp series. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Good Read
Returning from a covert mission, Mitch Rapp was publicly hailed by the president for his role in the fight against terrorism. After years of working in the shadows, Rapp was caught in the media spotlight -- and marked for death by virtually every terrorist in the world. Now a CIA advisor, Rapp is ready to battle terror far from the front lines. But when a Navy SEAL team in the Philippines is ambushed, all evidence points to a leak within the U.S. State Department. And a greater threat still lurks -- a ruthless assassin working for the most powerful men in the Middle East, who are bent on igniting a world war. With the world watching, Rapp must hold back the flames of Armageddon....
Vince Flynn writes really well. Every book in this series so far has been fantastic, page turners that you don't want to put down
Keep in mind that the series as published should not be read in that order. If you Google the books/author, you can find the correct order.

Great reading for those who enjoy the espionage type of book or series of books.
Received on time and as expected. Thanks--
i realized that i had 2 copies so here it is.
This book was better than his other one. It was extremely fastpaced. I like how he writes the characters.
I didn't care for it. Preachy. Relatively boring and straightforward plot. Over-the-top negative portrayals of the Iraqis, Palestinians, Israelis, and Saudis. After reading a few of Flynn's books I think I've finally lost interest.

I was looking for a new author to read, and I picked Vince Flynn. I started with the first book in this series and I haven't been able to put his books down. I really love everything about his books. I gets you involved from the very beginning.
Another great thriller by Vince Flynn, with his hero Mitch Rapp. All his books are page turners you just can't put down.
How sad that this great author passed away so young. But he left behind a wonderful series of books that are thrilling and exciting, real page turners. Mitch Rapp is an ideal character with exciting adventures.
