David Ellis has proven that he truly has what it takes to be on the top. "Eye of the Beholder" is even better than his first novel.

It's been a long time since a book had me up long past my usual bedtime playing the "one more chapter" game, but this novel had me playing it every night until I finished reading. Many times I thought I'd figured it all out, only to discover yet another level of motivation or deception. If you enjoy tightly paced mysteries with well-drawn characters and a very complex puzzle, don't miss "Eye of the Beholder;" I'll be looking for more by this author!

In 1985, Burgos killed six women, each method corresponding to a line in a song lyric, and was executed for it. Fifteen years later, it looks like the murders have taken up where they left off. The author built up a lot of intrigue but didn't know how to resolve it neatly, so multiple psychotic characters are invoked. The ending is both contrived and maudlin.

3.5 Book about a serial killer and 6 mutilated bodies. Soon it appears that there is not just one killer. Like this author. Good story. Twists and turns will keep you on your toes. hard to put down once you start it.
