This is the third Fargo adventure that I have read by Cussler. I thought this one was a cut above the last one that I read, Lost Empire, but still not on a par with Cussler's earlier Dirk Pitt and Oregon Files novels. In this one, a Viking ship is found embedded in the ice of a fjord on Canada's Baffin Island in the Arctic. Relics on board suggest that the ship had returned from Toltec-era Mexico. This leads Sam and Remi Fargo to Mexico to try to find the tomb of the Toltec leader, Quetalcoatl, and a legendary relic -- a huge emerald called "The Eye of Heaven." The team is hindered along the way by their adversary, Janus Benedict and his brother. I found this adventure to be good although the story sometimes got bogged down by details of the Fargos' dining and fashionizing. I did find the details of some of the sites in Mexico to be fascinating including Teotihuacan, a large Mesoamerican city near Mexico City. I visited the Mayan city, Chichen Itza, about 20 years ago and would like to see more of Mexico's ancient wonders. Overall, a mild recommendation for this. I also need to go back and read the other novels in this series to see how they compare. Teotihuacan:
