This is by one of my favorite authors. It is the second in the "Blades Hockey Team" series. Theresa Falconetti wants a man, just not an Italian from her Brooklyn, NY neighborhood. Michael Dante is from her neighborhood and he wants her. Not your normal fluff; there are some real "people" type of issues addressed in the book. Great read!

Theresa has a PR business and a rule about dating athletes. She doesn't. Michael is on the local pro hockey team and is determined to change her mind. He hires her to publicize his family's restaurant and things begin to heat up.

Continuing the New York Blades story, this book "Fair Play" kept my attention just as "Body Check," New York Blades, Bk. 2 did. Deirdre Martin tells a wonderful story and includes the stories of secondary characters. I knew from the end of Body Check that something was going to happen between Theresa and Michael. Theresa thinks she has found the perfect man until he turns out to be a "jerk." All along Michael has sat in the wings waiting for her, knowing that she was the one. Couldn't put this book down!!!

Theresa Falconetti has it all:brains, beauty,a quick wit, and her own PR business. To the deep disappointment of her large family, she never dates Italians, men from her old Brooklyn neighborhood,or professional athletes.Especially not athletes........

Michael Dante, popular hometown hero and winger for the Stanley Cup champion New York Blades is all three----and he is head over heels for her.

For Michael,Theresa's NO HOCKEY PLAYERS rule is a check to the heart.Nothing he does seems to melt her resolve. His stubborn refusal to give up on this wisecracking brunette,who-he knows-is hiding from her roots,is driving them both nuts. And when he hires her to publicize his family's restaurant, more than the kitchen heats up.Tehn Theresa finds herself an Upper East Side kind of guy,and Michael is forced to take his game to the next level.

Liked this one, but not as good as Body Check.

This is the second book in Martin's New York Blades series about a team of hunky hockey players. Theresa Falconetti runs her own PR business with best friend Janna MacNeil (from Martin's 1st book in the series) and is reluctant to be around her italian family, her old neighborhood, and definitely stays away from hockey players after being nearly raped by one a few years ago. Michael Dante is all three -- italian, from her neighborhood, and a hockey player. He is also determined to have Theresa who he hires to do PR for his family's restaurant. A charming story about boy chasing girl..

I liked this one, but didn't love it. Not enough interaction between the leads, never quite warmed up to Theresa either. It was an okay story and worth the read even if it isn't great. Theresa always dreamed of being a writer and it was neat to see all the references to different authors. A good dose of other characters featured in Martin's books too. Of course, hockey action was nice as well :]
