Fairy Tales Traditional Stories Retold for Gay Men
Author: Peter Cashorali
Drawing upon traditional sources like the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen, master storyteller Peter Cashorali weaves magical tales for gay men and their friends. "Clever, funny and surprisingly moving....It's easy to imagine FAIRY TALES becoming a dog-eared favorite among gay men who have longed since childhood to find images of themselves in their bedtime stories." -- COMMON BOUNARY.

The book was a great find. I have read it over and over again. As the quote says it is about time we found our fairy tales.

This book is refreshing. Great twist on traditional stories. They are rewritten in a way that is not a cheezy knock off but they read like traditional faerie tales with a refreshing message meant for the gay male.

I liked the concept of this book and the writing was fairly good. I didn't like the inclusion of modern-day objects and situations, such as the father having a cell phone and driving a car in Beauty and the Beast, or the Frog Prince living in someone's guest house and going to clubs. It was off-putting in stories that contained ideas and elements of the medieval fantasy world that classic fairy tales are written in. I would have enjoyed the book more if the modernizations had been excluded.
