this was an interesting read... some odd violence and situations involved. i'm not sure i understand it being on the "banned books list" but i don't understand why most of those are on the list.

Sick, disturbing novel about a family living in the "safe" suburbs. I am surprised that it is listed as a teen novel, as it is rather dark.

This was a very good book. I wouldn't recommend it for a preteen; however, I suppose it's not so bad for an older teen and up.

Cormier is the master of surprise endings and this won't disappoint the reader. A young girl is attacked in her home and left in a coma. The attack is witnessed by a young man witnesses the whole thing. In love with the girl, he becomes "The Avenger" rather than her savior for GOOD REASON!

Not appropriate for kids under 12 or so, I would say. Jr. High at the youngest.
