Practical Maggie Brown was the dutiful daughter, the good sister--and in trouble again because of her feckless family. But Ben Frazer held the answers to her problems. Maggie hired him as her guide through the remote, hostile mountain region to locate her wayward subling on a life and death matter.

At the request of her dying mother, Maggie Brown is on a mission to track down her twin sister and bring her home. She arrives in the small country of San Pablo, a country on the verge of revolution, looking for a guide to help her through the rugged mountain terrain. There she hires Ben Frazer to be her guide and bodyguard. Ben has his own agenda when it comes to Maggie and finding her sister is not part of it. As they Maggie and Ben bicker their way around the country, danger is close on their heels.
The adventure story where the hero and heroine are in danger or on the run is usually a favorite of mine, but this one just didn't do it for me. We know Ben has an agenda, but are not sure what it is until the end of the book. I thought the heroine was annoying and couldn't figure out what the hero and heroine saw in each other or why they fell in love so quickly. My rating: 2.5 Stars.
