In the second book of the Fallen series (actually book 3 and 4 as this is two books in one), I enjoyed the continuation of the story of Aaron, son of a fallen angel and human mother, and Gabriel, Aaron's now vocally communicating dog. Many dog owners have long held the position that their canines feel complex emotions similar to humans, and the author takes this situation and turns it into a grand dialog between master and beast. In this story Aaron is trying to find the place of refuge for the fallen angels and discover his own path. While battling the "dark" force of the leader of the angels of light, Aaron finds himself and discovers true friendships in others. I look forward to following Aaron's journey in the coming books.
