Fifteen years ago, Cassie Madison left home and never looked back. The night of prom, she waited for her boyfriend Joe to pick her up, but instead a note was delivered to her. Cassie's sister Harriet and Joe left to elope. Vowing never to forgive her sister, Cassie left and had made a new life for herself in New York.

She's successful, beautiful and engaged. So when her sister wakes her at 3 am one night with a phone call, Cassie knows it can't be good. Their dad is dying and he wants Cassie to come home. She does, but seeing Joe and Harriett after so many years has passed brings back all of the hurt and humiliation. Getting to know her nieces and nephews is a bonus, but when Cassie's dad passes away and leaves her the house and everything in it, she feels trapped.

Doctor Sam Parker has always had fond feelings for Cassie and when the two are together, sparks fly. But Cassie is engaged, and has no plans to stay in town. Her home is in New York and she'll sell the family home if she has to in order to return. But when something happens that threatens the family's way of life, Cassie has a hard decision to make. Stay or Run again?

Falling Home is a poignant and captivating story. The characters are compelling, realistic, complicated and uplifting. This story captured my heart and the characters play across my mind, even after the last page. If you read one book this fall, read this one! I highly recommend it!!

This is one of the best books I've read in a long time. Falling Home deals with Cassie Warren who has run away from her small Southern town 15 years ago. She returns for her father's death and is instantly drawn into the small town lives of her sister and her family and former classmates. This is warm, well written book with laughter, love, tears and even a little mystery. Characters and plot were well developed and a very enjoyable book. Loved it! Carol McFarland, WI

Cassie Madison left Walton Ga. looking for herself & happiness. Little did she know the town & family she left had everything she was looking for & then some! Through the death of her father Cassie begins a journey that captures the reader & pulls them right into the story. Karen White is one of my favorite authors & Falling Home is another reason why. I highly suggest this book. You won't be dissappointed. Totally awesome!

loved this book & even shed a tear or two which doesn't happen often.

The characters in it were very likable and the story was enjoyable. It was easy to root for Cassie and Sam as well as Harriet and Joe. I've read a few of Karen White's books now and they all seem to follow the same lines, so the plot and big "mystery" were a bit predictable. Sometimes that's okay in a book - especially when the book is as good as this one!

This is a "Steel Magnolias" type of book that is really fantastic. Southern charm and well formed characters that you fall in love with. I laughed and cried (and cried some more) eagerly reading each page and feeling completely a part of their world.

When an author can write words on paper and bring a whole gamit of feeling out from the reader and said reader finds themselves "involved" with those she has been introduced to on the pages, that author has written a winner. This book had me mad as heck, laughing out loud and feeling anticipation, i sobbed my heart out, tears running down my cheeks, i rooted and cheered, i fell in love, and i could not close this book until it was over. This was a fantastic read. If there is a waiting list for this book and you are number 1000, it is well worth the wait, you will not be sorry.

This was the first book I read by this author and I am looking forward to reading more. I really enjoyed reading this book. Be prepared to laugh and cry with the characters. I didn't want the story to end and hope that there is a sequel.

Cassie Madison has it all: a high-powered advertising career, a stylish Manhattan apartment, and a sophisticated, rich, and gorgeous fiance. It's a far cry from her childhood in Walton, Georgia, home of the annual Kudzu Festival and hot, sticky summers. And then there are all the bad memories, the heartache. When Cassie's estranged sister calls to say that her father is dying, Cassie knows it's time to set aside her feelings and go home and face the sister she hasn't seen in 15 years. When her father dies, he leaves the family home to Cassie, who can't wait to get rid of it and get back to New York, her job, and her fiance, even if it means having a developer tear down the house. But something keeps her in Walton, and she doesn't know if it's her mending relationship with her sister; the irresistible, aggravating Sam Parker, who wants her to preserve her house; or the feeling of finally being home.

I loved this! There were so many things going on in this story that it kept me interested in what would happen next. It was funny and made me laugh yet it was heartbreaking and made me tear up numerous times. As it got towards the end I kept checking how many pages I had left and willing there to be more. Fantastic book!
