Lately, I've been reading Regency novels with soul-shaking events and situations. This novel seemed rather basic. It's supposed to be a feel-good Christmas story. It satisfies that requirement but lacks any real charm or substance. This is a surprise for this writer, who has shown herself gifted in other novels. Overall score = G+.
