This is one of those books that gets pushed to the bottom of most To be read piles. It is an older book written in 1992. I really thought the writing was solid. I kept thinking as i was reading, that this must be what some of the classic mystery writers wrote like.

Borderville is a town on the border of both states TN and VA. That makes the story interesting already. Our 4 main characters go out to a grave yard to see if the can find a grave of a revolutionary war soldier. Instead they find a dead body. The police write this body off as a transient, but the 4 ladies see clues that reveal differently. They collect clues and solve this mystery. Often they take turns writing out the events, and a few times other players write a chapter about this story. It works out well as a formula. I just wonder if the same writing style will be in the other book. the ROtary club murders.

A fun little read, full of personality and with a slight grin all the way through. The DAR angle is there but not overbearing, and the mystery is delightful.
