A standalone book focusing on FBI agent and kidnap recovery specialist Alexa Keen, a character first seen in John Ramsey Miller's most excellent Winter Massey series. In this story, Keen finds herself in New Orleans with Hurricane Katrina approaching, trying to unravel a kidnap mystery involving one of the city's most respected and richest families.

Great characterization. You might need a scorecard for this one to keep track of a plethora of characters ranging from the high society to the lowest of the low and what happens when the two meet to create their on storm of lies, deceit, murder and more. An excellent read.
