Even though it took almost 100 pages before the murder took place, I still enjoyed this book. I'm looking forward to reading more in the series.
So many questions. Why does Jane's old acquaintance Phyllis invite herself and her unpleasant teenaged son to visit when they have not been in touch for 15 years? Why does someone kill Phyllis now, for heaven's sake? What will happen to the son, whose life of priviledge came to such an abrupt end? And will Jane ever finish knitting the Afghan from Hell?
This whole series makes me laugh. A bit improbable, but the situations the main charachter runs into with her kids complicating her life are real enough. Good, fun read.
I have become addicted to this series. Fast reads, great characters, just what you need after a long day!
light, fun reading
Farewell to Yarns is Jill Churchill's second Jane Jeffry's mystery. This one takes place at Christmas. An old friend comes to visit. During the visit two people end up died, Jane's son has a band concert, and her church has a bazaar. It is just another few days in the exciting life of Jane Jeffry.
I enjoyed this book because it was a good read even though it was a quick one.

Suburban single mom Jane Jeffry must manage the hectic Christmas season and host an old acquaintance and her bratty teenage son. Of course, there's also a murder to complicate things.
I loved this book.
This was the first of the series I've read. And I liked it enough that I'm ordering many others from the series.
The heroine is a great combination of church-goer and cusser. The women are middle-aged and the friend Suzie is over-sized, over-mouthy, and beautiful. A refreshing change from svelt 20-something heroines!

The Jane Jeffry mysteries are always fun. Easy reading.
Nice cozy mystery but I wish the folks who write the blurb on the cover would learn the difference between knitting and crocheting.
I love this series! :-D
Another enjoyable mystery with Jane and Shelley
A book from early in the Jane Jeffrey series. I liked this one much better than some of the later ones.

Very coarse, unable to finish because of the foul language.
The second in the Jane Jeffrey mysteries (with a nice Christmassy feel to it).
Life is hectic enough for suburban single mom Jane Jeffry this Christmas season - what with her having to survive cutthroat church bazaar politics and finish knitting the "afghan from hell" at the same time. The last thing the harried homemaker needs is an unwelcome visit from old acquaintance Phyllis Wagner and her ill-mannered brat of a teenage son. And the Wagner picture becomes even more complicated when a dead body is woven into the design.
A laugh a minute thriller with a fast-paced plot and spunky heroine.

Suburban mom, Jane Jeffry, deals with cutthroat church bazaar politics, finishing up the knitting of the 'afghan from hell' at the same time she has an unwelcome visit from an old acquaintance and her ill-mannered brat of a teenage son.
Good book...interesting mystery. Took a lot to get into, meaning it took a while for the mystery to begin. But once it finally did, it was very entertaining, with an ending I did not expect at all. :) Overall, a fun read as long as you can be patient and let it play out.
This was not my favorite cozy mystery. It started slowly and never did reach the suspense level I prefer.
A very funny, quick read.
