In a witty, engaging style, & drawing on self-experince, Newman has written an in-depth portrait of a teen-ager's struggle with weight, popularity, & the choices one deals with at that age.
An excellent read.
An excellent read.
Excellent book for preteens/teenagers about girl's struggle with bulimia. Both situations and character voices ring true.
Good young adult book on bulimia and anorexia, the main character doesn't get too far into her ed before seeking help which gives the story a happy ending. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in image issues associated with younger girls (takes place when she is 12-13).
interesting story told as a girl's diary. insightful as to how these things happen.
When Judi become friendly with pencil-thin glamorous Nancy Pratt, she desperately tries to be like her-even if that means suffering Nancy's secret binge-and-purge cycles of bulimia......Weight for Judi is no longer just another typical eighth grade problem. It's a matter of life and death.
