This book was enjoyable in terms of what we learn about the crime and the background of the criminal. It also gives a horrifying look at how easily young killers can be paroled - at least in PA. After stabbing a gay man to death when he supposedly made a pass at him, our killer serves less than the minimum sentence and parades out into the world only to violate parole, quite probably sexually assault a young teen, and eventually kill his girlfriend, her elderly grandfather, father, and a neighbor who attempts to help them. My criticism is that the authors allow his various quirks, sad upbringing, and fascination with himself to dominate the book. It is not poorly researched, nor is it tipped toward the killer's viewpoint - it just doesn't have enough information about the deceased. I guess true crime authors have to work with who they can interview, but it seemed more time and effort would have produced a deeper book. Decent read though!

This book describes the depravity of a very sick person...so self consumed with jealousy that he would rather kill the object of his obsession than to think that she might have been with someone else while he was incarcerated! This is one person who should have never been allowed to be paroled after the first murder he committed. He was released to kill four more people!!
