This was a depressing topic -- the abuse of underage girls. However, the author is broadening the number of police participants in this novel. I was surprised the author used a Labrador Retriever as the dog that drowned. We have one, and she swims for miles each day. It seemed odd to choose that particular breed.
This series is addictive; I've read four in a row. It is interesting to watch how the British police get their man without guns.
