While I enjoyed this one, I don't think I liked it quite as much as the first. I guess I expected more development in the characters, especially between Jack & Suzanne. Unfortunately, that doesn't really happen...
At times this book felt more like a re-hash of the first also. Suzanne's bumbling through the murder investigation seemed charming in the first book, but I kind of found it annoying in this one... she doesn't even figure out the murderer until the last few pages of the book, while I had them pegged by about the third chapter! I found it easy to lay the book down.
I'll probably give the third book a try when it comes out, but hopefully the author will have something new for us to read!

Suzanne finds herself involved with another murder when the victim is poisoned by one of her donuts. Grace is back as the best friend that will do anything to help. The relationship with Jake seems strained and distant. Twists and turns to find the killer. 3.5 stars
This is a great series! Small town dynamics, believable characters, good plots & romance thrown in for good measure. Plus plenty of donut recipes!! Everything a person wants in a cozy!

"April Springs, North Carolina, is hosting a grand tour of extraordinary kitchens, and local donut shop owner Suzanne Hart is dying to cook up something fabulous for the event. Unfortunately, dying turns out to be the key word. A local busy body drops dead after eating one of Suzanne's famous treats, and a forensic team is soon swarming through her kitchen. But with the help of police inspector Jake Bishop and her ex-husband Max, Suzanne hopes to clear her good name."
This is a delightful series that Im glad I ran into! Suzanne and her friends make for a interesting read! You don't have to like donuts to like the series!
