Fate is the Hunter
Author: Ernest K. Gann
"This book is an episodic log of some of the more memorable of (the author's) nearly 10,000 hours aloft in peace and in war. It is also an attempt to define by example his belief in the phenomenon of luck-- that the pattern of anyone's fate is only partly contrived by the individual."--The New Yorker.

This is one of the greatest aviation books ever written. A must read for any pilot, or person who wishes to peak into the world of an airline cockpit. It has been suggested to me the book be read periodically and I must say it gets better with each read. Gann does a wonderful job of sharing his experiences in the cockpit in a way that is both educational to the pilot as well as extremely readable. If you are a pilot READ THIS BOOK!

This is one of my favorite books to share of all time, for pilots and non-pilots. Gann's memoirs are funny, terrifying, insightful, and incredibly well-written. I'd recommend it to anyone.
