He tends to get preachy sometimes, but there are some brilliant insights into human behavior that make reading this worthwhile. And the mystery is usually very interesting and convoluted.

The Suburban Detective is back, with actual murder and the mysteries of family life mixed into a great read.

This is my favorite Suburban Detective novel yet. Jon Katz has wonderful insight into life in suburbia, and the foibles of men and women chasing the American Dream. Kit Deleeuw is once again in the middle of a murder (actually a double-murder), and is also trying to be a wonderful father and husband holding down the home front. The mystery wrapped up a little too pat in the end, but overall this book is well worth reading.
