Although this is now labeled as Book 6 of the Duke's Sons series, it really is a prequel, it takes place before the rest of the books in the series. It was originally published many years ago as "The Bargain", and I recommend reading it first. It's very funny, and a great introduction to the Duke's family.
This book is a retitled reprint of The Bargain (1997).
