Was a tedious read altho had to finish which I don't usually do. Characters were slow to develope and lacked reality. Too much hand wringing.

I did like this book, but it is very intense. Much darker content than some of her others.

Like all 0f Lisa Gardner's book this one was very well written but it was also very creepy. I finished it but I the Ick factor had me stopping so it took a few days..Even DD Warren., the main protagonist, was a bit off putting..Maybe it was the focus on pain, or the lack of it but if this was the 1st book of Gardner's I had read there would never be a 2nd one.

This is one of the best books that I have read in a long time. It kept me engrossed from the first page to the last. Good vivid, quirky characters. Lisa Gardner is a great writer. Sure wish she could write faster.
Healing people is her job, not easy for a woman who cannot herself feel physical pain. Her birth father was a serial killer who inflicted pain on her older sister, creating yet another killer. Add an injured police detective who talks to her pain and you have a super story.
I highly recommend this book.
