It's impossible to sum up this amazing book in a few sentences. Let's just say that this is one of my all-time favorite books, and I'll never get sick of it. Told entirely in letters and notes, FEELING SORRY FOR CELIA will make readers laugh, cry, and wish they could be part of Elizabeth's crazy but wonderfully interesting life.
Entertaining and humorous- and a very quick read. A sort of coming of age story of a shy teenage girl in Australia- written entirely as a series of letters and notes.
A really good book on a teen, who thinks she is a sorry excuse for a teen, while she gets her best friend (celia) out of hilarious situations. All while she develops a great relationship with her mom (Her mom is funny). The essecnce of teen.
An interesting tale of a young girl trying to figure out various changing relationships in her life. What I enjoyed most were the quirky notes her mother left her. What's not to love about messages like, "If you're bored tonight why don't you write down everything that comes into your mind when you hear the word toothpaste?" or "I can't wait to meet your new friends. Please tell them not to put water in my Bacardi."
This is an adorable book. I didn't love it right at first, and it is about a teenage girl, but soon I was loving it. It got quite exciting as I got swept up in the story.
"A #1 bestseller in Australia, this fabulous debut is a funny, touching, revealing story written entirely in the form of letters, messages, postcards..."

Cute and funny
Delightful story about a girl trying to navigate growing up. A comedic best seller in the author's home country of Australia. For anyone who loves Marian Keyes novels.
