I enjoyed this; I probably would have enjoyed it even more if I had read earlier book by Grimwood, because this appears to be part of a series.
I found this entire series (three books by this author) to be quite entertaining. The setting is a bit similar to George Alec Effinger's series & I'm guessing the author probably borrowed some basic ideas from Effinger's Marîd Audran series. This being said, this Arabesk series by Grimwood is more of a detective\mystery than a cyberpunk series. I found the idea of an alt. timeline which basically split off from our own timeline at the middle of WWI to be very interesting (and fun).
