The breakfast recipes include apple butter, Johnnycakes, Breakfast puffs, fried ham with gravy and dressed eggs with information about cooking and the foods that were prepared. Dinner consisted of Chicken pudding, Veal balls, Sweet potatoes and apples, green beans and Whipped Syllabub. Miscellaneous recipes like Sally Lunn bread in which a little excerpt states: "Some people say Sally Lunn bread came from the French phrase for sun-moon soleil-lune (so-lay-LOON). Each loaf has a golden top (sun) and white bottom (moon). In English, soliel-lune became "Sally Lunn" which is how the bread is known today." Favorite foods were Beefsteak pie, Baked pumpkin pudding, Raspberry flummery, Almond tarts, Queen cakes, spiced nuts and Liberty tea. A plan for your own tea party is enclosed as well.
