Geraldine Ferraro's biography of a daughter of Italian immigrants at the age of 8 she lost her father and watched her mother struggle to provide for her family. Education was the only solution and so she worked thru college and then entered law schoo, one out of 3 women in her graduating class. She made her way into a man's world fighting for her seat in Congress, her membership to the prestigious Budget Committee and then the coveted nomination for vice-president. With grace and candor she tells about her life.
I learned so much about early '80s politics and the Moral Majority, women's liberation, and Ferraro's run for the vice presidency. Highly recommend.
